Welcome Message

I'd like to welcome you to the official website of the Douglas County Young Marines. The Young Marines is a youth program for boys and girls, ages 8 through the completion of high school.
The program focuses on character building, discipline, leadership and promotes a healthy drug-free lifestyle. All interested individuals must complete 8 weeks (every Saturday) of recruit training in order to earn the title "Young Marine". I am sure you will find this website very informative and hopefully entertaining. If you wish to find a unit in your area, click on the National/Unit Locator tab above. You do not have to live in Douglas County to become a member of our unit. If you would like to find out more about becoming a member or to be added to the interest list for the next recruit class, view the About Us/Recruit Training page and fill out the interest form.
Thank you for your interest in our unit and I hope you will visit often.
MGySgt. Jeffrey J. Cooper, USMC (Ret.)

Happy Veterans Day!

On 12 November 2011, the DCYM provided a Free Pancake Breakfast to veterans at Parkers Senior Care Center. It was a great success for everyone as the Young Marines graciously provided breakfast to the veterans and learned and listened to wonderful stories by the veterans.
The DCYM thanks everyone who donated their time, cooking abilities, and supplies to make this event a success.
Additionally, some of the Young Marines helped the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hand out poppies at the King Soopers in Parker, Colorado to honor of veterans.
Great Job Young Marines, thanks for giving back to our community!

Way to go Young Marines!!!
Dont worry; the Young Marines had a little fun too by going down the water slide, jumping off of the diving board, and relaxing in the lazy river.
