Donations Welcome!Thank you for considering a donation to the Douglas County Young Marines. The Young Marines is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Your contribution to the unit will help to insure that we continue to educate and inspire our youth by taking educational trips, purchasing necessary equipment and participating in challenging activities.
In the past, donations have been used for trips such as the dedication of the Marine Corps Museum where the unit had the honor of escorting 5 Navajo Code Talkers (WWII Native American heroes who used their native language to develop the only code that was never broken by the Japanese) and their wives to the event. During the dedication ceremony, the Young Marines met Senator John Glen and many high ranking Marine Corps officers. They were then able to tour the Marine Corps Museum before it was open to the public. It was a trip they will never forget.
In addition to educational trips, available funds are used to reduce the cost of equipment. The unit is currently in the process of raising the funds necessary to help purchase 20 Daisy 1903 Springfield Replica Drill Team rifles for our armed drill team to use during the Air Force Academy National Invitational Drill Meet in May of 2010. These rifles cost $250 each, so we can use a lot of help in this area.
